I bought 5 of these for our living room home theater. We have 5 windows - three that face due west and two that face north with a two story neighbor's house about twenty feet away. I mounted the solar panels on one of the upper sash muntins on the inside. Each panel has the window glass, the storm window glass and the screen of the storm window between the panel and the outside. They perform flawlessly - even on the north side! This time of year, the only sunlight they see is reflected from the neighbor's house. We just passed the winter solstice and I waited until now to review this product as I thought the north facing ones would need some supplemental USB power. Even with the sun way to the south, the batteries stay charged from the solar panels alone. We use them everyday to watch shows on the big screen. Down at night and up the next morning. They have exceeded my highest expectaions.

VERY HAPPY with these. We bought two for behind the couch and couldn't be happier. Age pushed us to get these because of the remote action and we're happy with how they work. No more climbing on the couch to open the blinds so the cat and dog (and the great grandkids when they visit) can see outside. Everybody is happy now!
